DUNAS SAFARI, Tour Operator, based in Windhoek, Namibia, registered with the Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) and member of the Tourism Association of South Africa (TASA), specializes in “taylor made” Safaris and Tours. We speak Portuguese, French, English, German and Spanish.

We offer first class and personalized services for families and group tours, conferences, weddings and events.

Operating from our headquarders in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, Dunas Safaris presents itself as the gateway to the magical paradise of flora, fauna and wildlife of Southern Africa

Founded in November 2003.

From Angolan origins, JP and Ru never lost their roots to Portugal and for the past 16 years of activity, they managed to extend their friedship links throughout the world. Dunas Safari is one of the most prestigious Luso-Angolan tour operators in Namibia.

The Ribeiro & Figueira Family arrived in Namibia in June 2002.

JP was active in Angola professionally linked to the Mota Engil Group.

Ru was professional linked in Portugal to the Portugalia Airlines Group.

JP quickly realised and felt the impulse that Namibia could offer him the possibility of realizing one of his dreams: To program Leisure Tours in Africa

JP and Ru (Joao Pedro Ribeiro and Rosalina Figueira), initiated an audacious project, receiving the unconditional support of the Hesemans family and that’s how Dunas Safari Tour Operator commenced simultaniously with Villa Moringa one of the most prestigious and luxurious Guesthouses in Windhoek. This is where all started with their children Andreia, Frederico, Fernando e Joana, true pillars of this project.

From November 2003 to June 2019, we served approx. 23 000 families from all over the world.
The years 2004 to 2007, were the dificult one in capturing market penetration. It was team work with two people, JP and Ru, with the assistance of some freelancers. In 2004 Ana Jolaine and in 2005 Francisco Carvalho joined Dunas Safari as Assistants of JP & Ru. And a few months latter Bruna Pastuk.
Toward the end of 2007,for the first time we realised that it was possible to consolidate our presence in the Namibian Tourism industry market.
In 2005, we were present as the only Namibian Tour Operator company in the BTL tourism expostion.
Between 2008 and 2013, we offered with quality: Conference meetings for Group of Companies, such as Sonangol, ALNG, SOMG and Chevron. In 2010 Janine Heinz joinded the group as Manager of Villa Moringa Guesthouse and latter on Dunas Safari as Expert Safari Planner and responsible for the German Market.
Between 2008 and 2009, we guaranteed with success, “Incentive Team Building Tour” in Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Cape Town for the Angolan Espirito Santo Bank.
In September 2011, we were awarded the organization of a wedding for 100 people in Mauritius. In 2011 Melizande Adams assumed the Financial Department.
In 2012 and 2013, we iniciateded series of service providing contracts with Brazilian Petrolium Compaies, such as Petrobras and HRT and American Copanies Halliburton and Schlumberger. Ivo Alves in 2012 took the management of the contracts and latter on as Head Office Manager accumulating as Expert Safari Planner.
In 2012, by invitation of the Namiban Ministry of Tourism, we visited the Repulic of China.
As from 2013, we participated in Tourism Expositions, such as INDABA and ITB. In 2013 Andrew Kazeudja joined Villa Moringa Guesthouse on Bookings Department and after at Dunas Safari as Senior Consultant and responsible for Groups and Bookings Department.
In 2014, Frederico Ribeiro assumed the Management of our offices in Cape Town, Republic of South Africa and the Marketing Department . Also in 2014 Sylvia Mushabati joined the Team as Expert Safari Planner.
In 2015, we started the transformation of Dunas Safari from family business to a professional outfit. Pedro Figueira, joined the team as Commercial Director for Europe and later as General Director, launching the plaform for a new organization. Pedro opened new markets: Portugal & Spain .
Since 2016, we are participate in the Madrid’s Tourism Exposition FITUR with our own stand.
In 2016, JP and RU, dived in the Nile River, travelled the Kibale and Mwindi forests and brought a new market for Dunas Safari, namely UGANDA.
In 2016, Thierry Jolaine, assumed the Commercial Director position for the French market. Ines Martins join the Team as Expert Safari Planner.
In 2017, TANZANIA became a new target for our clientele.
In 2018, new challenges and a new team lead by JP assume full control of Dunas Safari. In 2018 Conni Lyners should be joined Dunas Safari as Marketing Manager and Silvia Machado as Tour Leader as well Expert Safari Planner.
in 2019, for the first Dunas Safari entre the market with “Fixed Weekly Departures” and “Tours with Guaranteed Confirmations”. Kahundu Matengu becomes Responsible for the Spanish Market .
